Why the headshot format fights Tinder
Built for a stamp
Headshot rules come from company directories, where the picture sits about the size of a stamp: plain backdrop, head and shoulders, neutral face. Tinder hands one photo the whole card. Grey fills that space with nothing.
Nine slots, one wall
Tinder has up to nine slots, and Photo Selector will not suggest group photos, so every slot is you alone. Nine turns at the same plain wall stop reading as a profile and start reading as a personnel file.
No rule asks for a suit
Tinder's Community Guidelines say nothing about AI photos. Rule 5 is about not pretending to be someone else, and Face Check, a liveness scan for new accounts, runs in a growing list of countries. Format is taste. Your face is the rule.

Can I use my LinkedIn headshot on Tinder?
You can, nothing blocks it. But it was built to sit in a small circle next to your job title, so the crop is tight and the background is bare. It works better as the reference you upload here: one person, face towards the camera, hair visible. That is all a reference needs.
Should my first Tinder photo be a headshot?
Your first photo fills the whole card, so your face has to be easy to read in it. That does not require an empty backdrop. Ask for a close crop in a place that has something in it, so the face stays large and the room still shows. A grey wall gives the card nothing to say.
Is an AI headshot the same as an AI dating photo?
The generation is the same. The direction is not. Headshot tools aim at one job: office backdrop, suit, neutral expression, ready for a company page. Here you pick the scene and the outfit yourself, from a preset, a written description, or a reference photo you upload. Nothing defaults to a boardroom.
Do I need nine different headshots for Tinder?
Tinder gives you up to nine slots, and nine near identical head and shoulders photos tell someone the same thing nine times. Run a few small batches instead, each with a different scene and outfit, and fill the slots from those. Same face throughout, nine different places to meet it.
Will the photos still look like me?
Yes. It is your own face, not a new one. Upload clear photos and the results look like you, at your best.
Are AI photos allowed on dating apps?
Dating apps do not ban AI photos. Tinder’s Community Guidelines say “Don’t create a fake account or pretend to be someone you’re not”, and say nothing about AI at all. The rule is about whether the person in the photo is you.
Will people be able to tell the photos are AI?
We cannot promise nobody notices, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can say is what decides it. A generated photo gives itself away when the face has been smoothed, when the light does not match the place, or when the person in it is not quite the person you meet. So the whole product is built the other way: your own face, your own features, kept as they are. You choose which photos to use, and you can say they were generated. Our own writing argues you should.
How many photos do I need to upload?
One is enough. It has to show only you, with your face towards the camera and your hair visible. You can add up to four for more variety. A side angle or a full body photo helps, but we do not need them.
Can I choose the scenes and outfits?
Yes. Pick a place and clothes from the list, describe them, or show us a photo to follow.
How much does it cost?
