How many photos do I have to upload, compared to TruShot?
TruShot asked for four selfies when we checked in July 2026. Fottory takes 1 to 4, and one is enough to begin. If you also have a side angle and a full body shot, add them, because more variety means more kinds of result can be made safely. Nobody is blocked for having only one.
Is Fottory cheaper than TruShot?
At the entry tier, yes. In July 2026 TruShot listed its smallest pack at 29 dollars for up to 30 photos. Fottory sells 30 photos for 19, and the first 2 are free with no card. At the top end TruShot sells far more photos than we do, so if raw count is what you are buying, they sell more of it.
Why does Fottory give fewer photos?
Because the choosing happens before the generating rather than after it. A batch of up to 8 you specified beats 300 you did not, at least for the six or so slots a dating profile actually has. The volume is still available: the largest pack is 200 photos, arriving a few at a time across as many briefs as you like.
Can I switch from TruShot without redoing the setup?
Yes, and there is no training step to sit through again. Upload 1 to 4 photos of your face, confirm they show how you look now, and the first batch can run straight away. Each photo takes about fifteen seconds.
Will the photos still look like me?
Yes. It is your own face, not a new one. Upload clear photos and the results look like you, at your best.
Are AI photos allowed on dating apps?
Dating apps do not ban AI photos. Tinder’s Community Guidelines say “Don’t create a fake account or pretend to be someone you’re not”, and say nothing about AI at all. The rule is about whether the person in the photo is you.
Will people be able to tell the photos are AI?
We cannot promise nobody notices, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can say is what decides it. A generated photo gives itself away when the face has been smoothed, when the light does not match the place, or when the person in it is not quite the person you meet. So the whole product is built the other way: your own face, your own features, kept as they are. You choose which photos to use, and you can say they were generated. Our own writing argues you should.
