What the Hinge format asks of your photos
Top Photo picks the lead
Hinge predicts which of your photos will get the most likes and moves it to the front. You do not set the order. So every photo in the set has to work as the one somebody sees first.
Photos sit next to three prompts
Hinge puts three written prompt answers beside your photos. The text can already name your job or your dog, so let the photos do something else. Pick a scene per slot that your prompts do not describe.

What does Hinge say about AI photos?
Two things, both published by Hinge. Its dating guide tells readers to skip AI generated profile photos, and reports that 88% of Hinge daters are uncomfortable with them. Its AI Principles permit generated images as long as you do not use them to misrepresent yourself. Misrepresentation is the line, so the rule is narrower than the advice.
How many photos does a Hinge profile need?
Four to six, depending on your country, plus three prompt answers. That is what Hinge asks of you. What you give us is smaller: one photo of your face is enough to start, showing one person, face forward, hair visible. Up to four gives more variety to work from.
Should I bother ordering my Hinge photos?
Not much. Top Photo reorders the set and moves the photo it expects to do best into the lead position, so the order you set does not stay put. What you do control is which photos are in the set at all. Put the effort into replacing a weak slot instead of shuffling.
Should all my Hinge photos be different?
Yes. A like or a comment arrives attached to one specific photo, and Top Photo can promote any of them to the front. Four near identical photos read as one idea repeated four times. Pick a different scene and outfit for each batch, so every slot adds something the others do not.
Will the photos still look like me?
Yes. It is your own face, not a new one. Upload clear photos and the results look like you, at your best.
Are AI photos allowed on dating apps?
Dating apps do not ban AI photos. Tinder’s Community Guidelines say “Don’t create a fake account or pretend to be someone you’re not”, and say nothing about AI at all. The rule is about whether the person in the photo is you.
Will people be able to tell the photos are AI?
We cannot promise nobody notices, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can say is what decides it. A generated photo gives itself away when the face has been smoothed, when the light does not match the place, or when the person in it is not quite the person you meet. So the whole product is built the other way: your own face, your own features, kept as they are. You choose which photos to use, and you can say they were generated. Our own writing argues you should.
How many photos do I need to upload?
One is enough. It has to show only you, with your face towards the camera and your hair visible. You can add up to four for more variety. A side angle or a full body photo helps, but we do not need them.
Can I choose the scenes and outfits?
Yes. Pick a place and clothes from the list, describe them, or show us a photo to follow.
How much does it cost?
