Made for
Tinder is not a grid. The card fills the screen, so one photo does the whole introduction. The rest only show up if someone taps. This page is about that first photo. You pick the scene and the outfit, you get 2 to 8 photos back, and you decide which one leads the card. Your face, not someone else's. The first 2 photos are free.
You are not the problem. Your photos are.

What Tinder decides for you
Photo Selector skips groups
Tinder's Photo Selector chooses which of your photos to put forward, and it will not put forward a group one. The photo where you look happiest, with three friends beside you, never gets picked. Every photo here has one person in it, you.
Face Check reads new accounts
New Tinder accounts in a growing list of countries go through Face Check, a liveness scan. It confirms a real person is behind the profile and compares that to the photos on it. What it compares against should be your own face.
Nine slots, two batches
Tinder holds up to nine photo slots. A batch here comes back with 2 to 8 photos, so two rounds cover a profile and still leave you some to throw out. The first 2 photos are free.

Questions
Does Tinder allow AI generated photos?
Tinder's Community Guidelines contain no rule about AI photos. There is no line about generated images anywhere in them. Rule 5 covers fake accounts and pretending to be someone you are not. That is the line, and it is about whose face is on the card, not about the tool that made the photo.
Can I change which photo leads the card?
Yes. A batch gives you 2 to 8 photos rather than one result, and they are yours to keep. Put one at the front of the card, leave it a week, then move another into first place. The order of the nine slots is yours to change whenever you like, with nothing to generate again.
Can I upload a photo with friends in it?
No. The photo you upload has to show one person, so there is no question about which face is yours. It also needs your face towards the camera and your hair visible. One photo like that is enough to start. Six gives more variety, but it is not required.
How recent does my uploaded photo need to be?
Recent enough that you still look like it. That photo sets the face on every photo you get back, so an old one hands you an old face. On a new account Face Check also holds a live face up against your profile. Use the most recent photo you have, even a dull one.
Will the photos still look like me?
Yes. It is your own face, not a new one. Upload clear photos and the results look like you, at your best.
Are AI photos allowed on dating apps?
Yes. Dating apps do not ban AI photos. They ban pretending to be someone else. A photo that still looks like you is what passes their check.
How many photos do I need to upload?
One is enough. It has to show only you, with your face towards the camera and your hair visible. You can add up to four for more variety. A side angle or a full body photo helps, but we do not need them.
Can I choose the scenes and outfits?
Yes. Pick a place and clothes from the list, describe them, or show us a photo to follow.
How much does it cost?
You pay once, with no subscription. Packs start at 19 euros, and you only spend a credit when you ask for a photo.
Can I try it for free first?
Yes. Your first two photos are free and you do not need a card. See your own face before you pay anything.
Is my data private?
We never train on your photos and we never share them. They stay yours.
