Bumble tests, Hinge reorders
Bumble's Best Photo tests your first three photos and moves the winner up, so those three slots need three different ideas. Hinge's Top Photo can pull any photo into the lead without asking, so all four to six have to open a profile.
Six slots against four
Bumble gives you six slots and advises filling all six. Hinge takes four to six depending on your country, plus three prompt answers. Move a Hinge set straight over and you arrive at Bumble with empty slots.
One batch per app
A batch returns up to 8 photos, so plan one batch for the Bumble six and a second for Hinge. Splitting a single set across both apps leaves each profile a little thin.

Questions
Which app should I build the set for first?
Bumble, because six is the larger number and Bumble advises filling every slot. Once those six hold six different ideas, carry over the four to six that work hardest on their own to Hinge. Two or three photos on both profiles is fine. All six on both is not.
How many photos do I need for Bumble and Hinge?
Six for Bumble and four to six for Hinge. With two or three shared, ten to twelve photos cover both profiles. That is two batches. Our 30 photo pack is 19, and the first two photos are free when you sign up, no card.
Do Bumble and Hinge have the same rules on AI photos?
No. Bumble's guideline prohibits artificially generated or enhanced photos used to deceive others, so the condition is deceiving, not generating. Hinge's AI Principles permit generated images as long as they do not misrepresent you, while Hinge's own dating guide says to skip them. Both land in the same place. It has to be your face.
What if I do not have six ideas for Bumble?
Hinge is easier here, since four photos is enough in some countries. Bumble still asks for six, and three ideas padded out with near copies still reads as three. One batch returns up to 8 photos, which is enough to close the gap.
Will the photos still look like me?
Yes. It is your own face, not a new one. Upload clear photos and the results look like you, at your best.
Are AI photos allowed on dating apps?
Dating apps do not ban AI photos. Tinder’s Community Guidelines say “Don’t create a fake account or pretend to be someone you’re not”, and say nothing about AI at all. The rule is about whether the person in the photo is you.
Will people be able to tell the photos are AI?
We cannot promise nobody notices, and anyone who does is guessing. What we can say is what decides it. A generated photo gives itself away when the face has been smoothed, when the light does not match the place, or when the person in it is not quite the person you meet. So the whole product is built the other way: your own face, your own features, kept as they are. You choose which photos to use, and you can say they were generated. Our own writing argues you should.
How many photos do I need to upload?
One is enough. It has to show only you, with your face towards the camera and your hair visible. You can add up to four for more variety. A side angle or a full body photo helps, but we do not need them.
Can I choose the scenes and outfits?
Yes. Pick a place and clothes from the list, describe them, or show us a photo to follow.
How much does it cost?
You pay once, with no subscription. Packs start at 19, and you only spend a credit when you ask for a photo.
